Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Weekend score!

So, as the wife and I were out driving yesterday, we were passing by the shooting area on BLM land which isn't too far from the house.

It was windy as hell (up to 50 mph gusts) so I figured nobody would be around. I usually avoid the place on weekends, as I almost got shot while setting up a target. Something whizzed past my head into my paper target.

Anyway, I like to see what I can glean. Yesterday I hit the jackpot. I don't know how many pieces of what appears to be all once-fired brass, but it completely filled a 2 lb. coffee can.

It is mostly 5.56x45 and 9mm. There is about a dozen .300 Win Mag brass, some .357 mag and some .45ACP.

One man's laziness is another man's treasure.

Question: There were some nickel plated .223 brass. Think I can reload them to 5.56?

My wife is such a wonderful gal. She told me today that she'll go back out there and see what she can pick up for me, if I wanted her to. I told her it would be more fun to do it together and shoot the guns, too.

Niclad cases are a bit stronger, in my opinion.
Size 'em to your need, they WILL feed!

5.56 cases are actually thicker than .223. Load data is different.

I've scrounged brass every trip I make to the gun club. I see it as a commodity. Last year I bought a stainless steel pin tumbler & cleaned everything except the .50 BMG brass. It's all clean & sorted by caliber & manufacturer.

Yes, as I understand it's the thickness of the case (to withstand the load) what makes a difference. don't hurt the gun, be careful.

Chamber specs also differ quite a bit.

I make a circuit every Saturday morning, when I am home. I hit three different gun clubs, to clean up their ranges. On two of them, I even root through the trash cans, as it just amazes me how much brass is thrown away.

When on duty, I hit the post ranges when I can.

Just separate the .223 from the 5.56 and reload them to specs.

...or turn the .223 into 7.62 x 25 Tokarev.

I love 300 Win. mag, I haven't seen any ( free ) brass in a few years - nice score now if a little of your luck could just rub off on me.
