First fishing trip
went out for the first time this evening.
What a trip, first the damn trolling motor wants to show its ass, then the damn stern light went out just after dark, then about 10 pm I hit the dam for one last chance and the damn starter wouldnt engage the flywheel. What a bitch, I pulled the flywheel cover and got the trusted rope starter out, man my arm is tired, but I got her cranked and back on the trailer, then the damn trailer lights went out.....fuck me to tears.....6 fish in the boat though, all were almost the size of my pecker..The surface temp was 60 so I figure the bigger fish are in the back of the creeks bedding, but with all the trouble I was having, I wasnt about to go there. Still beats working..I did see 3 deer and about 200 turkeys. Kerr Scott resorvoir is the most beautiful lake, its small and hard to navigate at night but its well worth the trip just for the wildlife and scenery.

Well, at least you caught some fish.
I've been going through everything on my boat and trailer. I just put new lights on my boat trailer because the lens on one of them was cracked and I couldn't find a replacement lens.

looks like Ill be doing trailer lights today myself, I think I need to replace the main relay on the trolling motor, and of course its sealed si I cant just buy a relay, I have to buy the whole damn board. Still not sure whats up with the starter, its turning good, just doesnt engage flywheel, sometimes, usually when its late, dark, cold and a long way from the truck.

An electric solenoid is what engages the starter motor to the flywheel.
That could be the problem, the silicone spray might work if the only problem is a sticking solenoid. |

lights are fixed, and new lamps in place, dont really know the culprit, Im sure it will show itself again in time. The starter problem was that the bendix was hanging onto the flywheel, and not disengaging, gave it a good dose of white lithium grease and that seemed to cause it to disengage everytime, I guess when it hung up on the flywheel and I ran her wide open down river the starter or bendix got to hot, I think that is fixed. Did some banging on the damn trolling motor and it seems to be working good now. Of course all of the above will certian be subject to change when shes in the water, aint that how it works???

went back out last night, all systems worked great, so I think I have problems resolved, 5 fish in boat, nothing big, I did have a larger fish break off, dont knw how big, Id guess 4 or 5 lbs, they seem to be staging up to go on the bed, they were all mid way back of creeks and cuts on points and cover
