What automatic rifle did the Russians use during the seige of Leningrad
I was watching a PBS video on YouTube about the seige of Leningrad. And I saw an automatic rifle I didn't recognize. Anyone know what they were?

Wikipedia says the Fedorov was used in the Winter War and WWII. Since the Leningrad Military District conducted the Winter War there were probably a lot of them in the city.

One of the main reasons Kalashnikov began working on his what was to become AK-47 was the lack of infantry automatic weapons.
While recovering in the hospital from battle injuries he talked to the Russian infantry men and they told of their frustration of overwhelming German firepower. Kalashnikov solved that problem.. |

Found a few seconds of footage. Sound is horribly loud at first so turn your volume down before starting.
