Buying a SP89 & sear then having it put together is one of the smarter things I ever did. I'm in for about $15K, but the set up would easily fetch $50K+.
I did however sell my USP40 to a friend & more then doubled my money on that deal. With that cash I set up my Sig 226 with the suppressor from the USP & added a Trijicon SRO. |

About 3 years ago, I bought a Ruger 5.7. I liked shooting it. Back then, ammo was very hard to find. I bought it, thinking it'd make a nice EDC gun. IMO, it was larger than my 1911A1, and thicker.
I hung onto it for about a year, kept looking for ammo for it locally, but never really found any. So I ended up selling it, and using the funds to put towards a different firearm. |

I like the hydro static shock ability, but still think it's going to over penetrate on humans. And then you think about the drug induced idiots have increased & the likely hood of one of them being who you might very well have to shoot. I'd like to try one out on feral hogs to see first hand the stopping power, or pass through of the round.

If you want to find out for sure, go shoot a couple of deer or pigs with the 5.7 and see.
