Went on a looong mountain bike ride and hike..........i stashed by bike behind a bunch of mesquite trees and hiked to the salt river.....first photo is of 6 wild horses...the prominent one is an albino......that was as close as they would let me get to them, i tried very hard to sneak up on them to get a close up photo but it didn't work. The bike ride/hike took me over seven hours and im very sore from it..........and on the bike ride back home i found a woman's wallet thrown by the side of the road.....all money was taken but her ID , SS card, Medicare insurance cards etc. were still inside.....im going to mail it back to her. The hike started out along side of a dry sandy creek bottom which is easier hiking in this country rather than going through the bushes here all of which have needles on them of some kind........i then had to climb 2 ea hills that i estimate were between a half and 3/4 mile high then the terrain went down hill to the salt river and turned into sort of a mangrove area of mesquite trees that were so thick in some places it appeared to be dusk....then suddenly it opened up to the salt river which was low in the way of water flow this time of year because they close the damn.......very fun hike. I even did a little shooting on the hike as i paused to eat my lunch.. i set up my rufus/daquan targets and fired about 60 rounds into the both of them. Found a few strange or slightly unusual things on the trip besides the wallet......first was an old lead glass purple colored glass whiskey bottle that had a cork top that was probably laying out there from the old west indian war days and then there was what appeared to be the spine bones from a horse....many large feral dog or wolf tracks all over....im glad i had my smoke wagon on my hip. |

Some great scenic pics there Buzz.
Critter paths have always interested me also. Some you can follow, some you can't. Keep your ammo belt loops full, ya never know ..... |

buz for God sake you did not see any live animals cause whatever left that frigging track ate em all. The horses could run away.
If you camp out and this guy shows up give him your horse, knife and a few blankets. Do not make eye contact. |
