Yes.
The gold was in Sad Hill Cemetery. In a grave marked unknown. Next to a grave marked Arch Stanton. MERC

There was a payroll of gold headed to Cincinnati (Soldiers pay) in the 1790 that was buried on a hill side after a Indian attack. It was never found.

I wouldn't mind being cursed with gold for a little while, Confederate or otherwise.

My grandpa died at age 88 in 1969. He was actually too old to fight in WWI. He was from West Virginia and he spoke a couple of times of the 'Watchers' and the 'Knights of the Golden Circle'. There are people (who should know) that believe that the Watchers and the KGC still exist. I have a tendency to believe them.

But what happened to all the gold that Col. John Morgan of the CSA robbed from the union army's paymasters? Morgan's Raiders....a Southern Ohio tater chip dip into the Lawson's chip dip bin of American history....

I've heard that they are still active in Arkansas But it would make one wonder, if there was any gold or silver, has it been dipped into over the years...also I've read that the James gang was putting money into the kitty also... You don't go 'pokin' around in NW Arkansas or SW Missouri...people in those hills ain't all friendly... |
