Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Thank you.

Even gave the new owner a spare clip latch spring.

My Winchester M1 did that. The op rod spring had broken and was threading in to itself.
I figured that it was "hammering" to hard causing the latch to release.
Quit doing it with the new spring.

The op rod was in 16 pieces when I bought it. Replaced it before firing.

I didn't change any of the trigger group, barrel, gas tube, sights or any pieces of the bolt.

Put new stock on it, replaced Clip latch, clip latch pin and clip latch pin. Replaced operating rod, bullet guide and all related parts.

It was a Winchester with a Winchester milled trigger guard and a Blue Sky barrel.

The problem stopped for one whole session. Then cropped up again. I bought it in 1990 for $350, I could have bought two for as much as I sunk in it and wish I had.

I could get it back if I really wanted to, but I don't know why I would do that to myself

I might not have replaced the op rod arm, can't remember. All parts on the end of it that feed ammo got changed. Shit

here is a couple pics of mine, not the best,I was doin all kinds of stuff trying to block light, the laundry is pretty bright though

if you look closer at the receiver (finger pull on the curved part) it appears to be nicked really bad by something,at fiirst I thought it was a weld but it's not,I am thinking shrapnel or bullet damage,I can't say for sure though

Nice.....where did you find her?

Gun pics usually come out best outside on a sunny day.

a guy at work,he said it was a wall hanger because he ran a bunch of corrosive ammo through it and didn't clean it, so the barrel looks like a sewer pipe and the gas system may be damaged,it is a spring of 1945,and I paid a hundred bucks for it,pretty good deal I think even though it won't shoot

I'll second that (good deal), hell a new barrel an a little TLC it will be as good as any M1.

I'll give you a $110.00 for it sight unseen.

What are you saying is nicked? The receiver or the operating rod?

If the nick is where the red arrow is pointing, it's supposed to be there.

If you are talking about that little round notch on the operating rod, that is supposed to be there. It is a relief cut.

They did that on A RUMOR OF WAR a miniseries with Brad Davis in the lead and Brian Dennehy and Lance Henriksen in bit parts. Either that or they were Beretta 59s, looked goofier than shit in American soldier's hands whatever they were.
