I love a good grilled Talapia, served up with lemon butter and some herb seasoning. Yeah it used to be considered a "junk" fish but I love eating cooked fish. Preparation is the key.

Talipea has a strange grassy taste--like bad catfish. I don't like it.

More Tilapia.. Warm water by the clear water springs bringing them out..
Vegetarians. This one weighs around 5 lbs.. Guy pulled in with a pickup full, were loaded with them. Their eating the duck weed, good.. Really a clean nice white flesh fish if caught in nice water.. Kind of like our Florida east coast mullet here. They taste like rotten mud. West coast "Gulf" clear water mullet, some of the best fish I ever ate.. Pretty much the same species, just better water they feed in.. Nice guy, offered me about 20 lbs... Did not want to freeze or wast them so just took on nice one.. Guys net them or use bow and arrow.. Some swamp cabbage, fried rattle snake appetizer, damn your talking some fine eating..

"It was at that point I began to feel a sense of fear. It was that level of enthusiasm," Beam, a 48-year-old musician from Higginsville, said Sunday, referring to the reaction from the crowd that filled the fair's grandstand.
http://news.yahoo.com/missouri-fair-...004950184.html "Level of enthusiasm?" What an understatement.. If it was not for ACORN and the 30 million illegals who voted for the Ape, he would not be in the Black House.. Not just America, the whole damn world hates the Ape. Factor in a few more moronic Dumbocrats who voted for the Ape and their he sits on his thrown, ready to share the wealth and add $6 trillion too our national debt.. Wonder how his bunker he dug on the front lawn of the Black House is coming along.. Nut case in Germany tried that trick in the 40s, did not work out to good for him.. i prefer salt water fish. swordfish, flounder, spanish mackerel being on top of the list. we do pick up the Tilapia from time to time and i coat it with butter, a bit of thyme and garlic pepper, top it with thin sliced onion and broil.

One of the best-tasting swimming scaled critters in the sea, especially when served up in a grilled, thick "steak".
Not too many years ago Blue and Mako shark were often passed off in restaurants as swordfish. Very similar in taste & texture. Now sharks are a protected species, not unlike Africanas Robustus. Me personally, I prefer the sharks. |

I watched a video, on TV today.
"You Gotta See This" program. Fighting a Sailfin (swordfish). 350 pounds of deadly sword. Right at the last minute that fish jumped into the boat. Just about impaled two folks doing it. Catch and Release, believe it or not! |

Went fishing a couple weeks ago and fought a manta ray, about 5 feet wingtip to wingtip, that sucker took a while and required help to release. They can pull that line. Must have been an easy 40 lbs.
