Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default My first AR-15 lower build

I still need to torque the castle nut & dimple the endplate into the castle nut too. I thought I had a spare stock laying around, but sure couldn't find it. If I do another one I think I'll register it as a SBR. Currently the only upper not on a lower is my original Colt Commando. The Colt LE6946 is currently on the M-16A2 registered reciever.

It's an addiction. The Aero lower I got had the cast in trigger guard. That was a first for me. Two of my builds have Shockwave Blades from KAK making them pistol builds. One has a 11.5" Faxon Gunner barrel. The other don't have a upper receiver yet.

I won't do a pistol build. I really don't care for the Arm Brace type set ups. If I build a SBR I might go with a PDW stock or folding stock adapter.

I like mine. A good cheek weld and it's pretty accurate. Every lower I put together gets the 10 1/2" upper put on it before it ever sees a stock, just in case I ever want to use that receiver for a pistol build later. If you put the stock on before "building it as a pistol" it can never be built into one.

A pistol can become a rifle...but a rifle cannot ever become a pistol. :BATFE.

If you start with a pistol and make it a rifle later, you can go back to being a pistol if you do it in the right order. If it built as a rifle first, you can't make it a pistol later.
It happens a lot with AK style pistols... you can pin and weld on a barrel extension to +16" and then install a stock, and then later remove the stock first and then remove the barrel extension. If you shorten the barrel and then remove the stock, you have the "illegal SBR" problem.
It's easier with an AR.

I had one of these on a Essex 1911 lower years ago. I had Peter Garrett of Newport KY build a 1911 slide for my lower.

I used to have my granddaughters who were twelve and ten, at the time assembling my AR15's that would be for sale at funshows. You don't "build" an AR-15...you simply assemble them, much like a tinkertoy.
