Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Unhappy Tom “The Mongoose” McEwen, 1937-2018

https://www.hemmings.com/blog/2018/0...wen-1937-2018/

Quote:
Over a drag racing career that spanned nearly four decades, Tom “The Mongoose” McEwen won just five NHRA national events, yet still established himself as one of the best-known drivers in the sport’s history. It’s no exaggeration to say that his skill at promotion reshaped drag racing, attracting high-dollar sponsorships and catapulting it from relative obscurity onto television screens across the United States. On Sunday, June 10, McEwen died at age 81.
I met Tom on several occasions. Even had a few burned out pistons from his top fuel motors, with two being signed by him.

When I quit playing with my toys I packed them all away. Most of them I had to work for (that shit of teaching me the value of a Dollar) so they had meaning to me.

My older sister crapped out 3 kids then her husband ejected. My mom & dad supplemented them until she had to sell the house once the youngest was 18. Seems my dad found my stash & my mom redistributed my wealth to them. Hot wheels cars were the only thing they did find.

At some point a buddy of mine started collecting the now antique toys of his youth. Major Mat Mason to be exact. I had a bunch of it stash only to find out it was gone. I was really pissed about my Mattel Fanner & Rolling Block carbine, along with a 1911 that shot these funky caps.

When I was about 10-12, I made a Mongoose Drag car from a Revell or Monogram kit... 1:24 scale if I remember correctly. Always thought he was a cool customer.

Funny how shit can appreciate over the long haul. I think mine are nicer as the decals are in better shape. Someone else has the complete cars & track set up like I had listed for $300.00.
