Last year I went to a local gun show and they had a separate room for collectors to show their stuff that was not for sale. There was a lot of interesting things including a guy that had a 1903 Mark I with a Pedersen device. It only took him a few seconds to switch from regular bolt to the PD. I think it could very well have been a game-changer had it actually seen action.

Once again the stupid govt. cancelled something that could have been a game changer.
And it was all about the 'caliber' of the cartridge. That and fear mongering over wars. |

I have a 1903 Mark I. Pederson devices are about as rare as it gets.

I'm sure if I could get my hands on one to reverse-engineer I could machine some of my own.

I don't know about game changer, it was chambered for the .32 S&W (I have a couple of the cartridges, and yes, it is the same size as the .32 ACP, which makes IDing them a pain in the rear) so it was not very powerful. Sure I wouldn't want to get shot with them, but it was no 9mm Para or .45 ACP.

The fucking retard which wrote this should realize the Pedersen Device is SEMI-AUTOMATIC and thus not a "war changing minature machinegun". Must be another "expert" gun writer. The Pedersen device might have been useful in WW I, But is awkward and underpowered. The U.S. military would have been much better off issuing A few Winchester M1907s with 15 round magazines to each squad, Much like the Thompson SMG was issued in WW II. The 351 Winchester is a much more effective round that the 30 Pedersen.
