I see deer here quite often. I have been observing a red tail hawk who snatches rodents out of the grass and weeds between my house and the woods. I have seen him snatch several squirrels up who were hungry enough to come out digging up acorns, etc., on a nice sunny day. Mr. Hawk is a badass. I had my ATV heading out into the woods and Mr. Redtail did a zoom dive using me for cover as he snagged a field mouse. He alighted about 30' away on the ground...and chowed down. I just sat and watched. Then I remembered I have a camera. and snapped a pic. He seemed bored by me sitting and watching him eat.

Found a another dog @ a local rescue. This one is the wife's dog. He is real skittish, said to be a puppy mill dog. Totally scared of my lift chair.
I was out spraying the fence line with brush killer & noticed he's digging up the back yard. Not sure is he's hunting moles or what. A buddy was over with his puppy & she was digging too. I guess it could be bugs that burrowed into the ground. |
