I wonder if they got their money back? I really like the frigging pin heads who don't listen when they quite simply say jump? They get to get the super whipper at the end of the ride.

You have to wonder why they are riding it down the mountain... I thought the point of a ski lift was to take you up so you can ski down.

The Austrian company that built the "steel cable lift" not rope lift builds them worldwide including across the U.S. They have safety features on top of safety but only if the operator implements them.
When the diesel motors stop brakes automatically are engaged to prevent or help prevent roll back. Then the operator hits a back up generator system to get the cable running or at least keep it in place to assist the brakes.
Whoops somebody did not know which button to push. Hang on.
