Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Price check on 1911A1 Remington Rand

Just came from my favorite gun store and was shown a 1911A1 Remington Rand stamped "Property of US Army", bluing is about 40%, no rust or dings, it was packed away since the 1960's, they just took this pistol in and hadn't cleaned it up or priced it yet.
Any idea what this Pistol should sell for? I might want to buy it.

My WAG is that they'll put a price tag on it for around $800 or higher.

Thanks, I'll look for that when I see it again, they are supposed to call me when they get it cleaned up and decide on a price.

I bought a 1943 RR "US Army" back in December. I didn't pay near $800 for it. But I have seen them at gun shows for more than $800 that weren't in great shape.

Gunny, I said blued when I should have said finish, because it was not blued.
But thank you for that info......I learned something.

gunny: Remington Rands produced in 1942 and most of 1943 had the du-lite blued finish. From Late 1943 on they were parkerized.

RTO that is a very nice looking pistol.

If I can buy the one I saw today for under a grand I'll probably go for it.

Thanks DGR. Here's a site with some info about RR's if you don't already know about it. The one I have has the Type 2 slide marking.

I have seen a 1942 that was blued. As a matter of fact, I've shot it.

These are nice Sarge. I say go for it unless they want a small fortune.

The du-lite blued finish was a matte finish there were no polished steel blue Remington Rands, if so they are refinished.
Stamping cratering around the edges of the lettering will not be sharp and more even with the surface.
A Rem Rand is still a catch what ever the condition.
