I made some potato soup
It is cold and windy today. After church I came home and made a pot of potato soup.

Mmmmm . . . potato soup . . . that is what I need for this cold that I have been fighting for almost a week.
My wife makes good potato soup. I sometimes ask her to put a can of baby clams in it. Maybe I'll see if I can trick into making some for dinner today.

A bar back home had killer lunches & their potato was stellar! The owners were polish & Sophie was baptized by John Paul. I remember sitting there eating lunch the day he was elected pope. She was the happiest I every seen her.

Make a white roux. Add carmalized diced celery, onions & carrots don't hurt. Add diced spuds heavy cream if you want the real deal.
Adding bacon or cheese also works. Made it with sour cream. Best ever I cubed & pain fried the potatoes. Used sour cream, chives, cheddar. |

I didn't get potato soup today but I did score home made chicken pot pie. I don't know which I like better.

I add a lot of carrots and black pepper, beyond that the basic recipe suits me fine. I like my 'tater soup on the mild side.
Milk toast mild. Good eatin'. Campbells might own "Mmm Good" Mmm better? They don't own that. |

I made a crock pot of pinto beans with ham. Soaked the beans all day yesterday.
Chopped the ham off the bone last night, then put bone and all in with the beans, set the pot on high to get it warmed up, then it has been on low, boiling all night. I WILL have pinto beans for breakfast. I might even share some, in the Christmas spirit, of course. |
