Any wine lovers out their watch "Sour Grapes" before you buy expensive wines.
"With pockets full of cash, charisma and a preternatural memory for vintages,*an unassuming young Rudy Kurniawan earns the reputation of a wine savant, surrounding himself with some of high society’s most fervent wine connoisseurs. But when Bill Koch, a top US collector, and, Laurent Ponsot, a Burgundian wine producer, discover suspicious bottles, a humorous and suspenseful investigation begins into one of the most ingenious cons of our time."
http://www.sourgrapesfilm.com/about/ Rudy beat Bill Koch alone for a bit over $4 million bucks in phony relabeled wines. Whoops picked the wrong guy to screw over. Koch hired retired C.I.A. and FBI agents to investigate him. Estimates are Rudy conned damn near $75 million in phony relabeled wines to the so called wine experts. He is doing 10 years in club Fed. No money has been recovered. Good job Rudy.

I like red wine for it's medicinal properties, cheap wine is as good as expensive wine, but the expensive ones taste better.

I guess I don't drink much wine, as evidenced by the bottles on the shelf and in the wine rack.
When I was in Germany, though, I could tell which wine producing valley in Germany a white wine was from by taste. I drank a lot of wine over there.

You know, I'm no wine connoisseur but I inherited a lot of wine bottles from my father-in-law when he died and have been drinking them, so recently I opened one up and it was one of the best wines I've ever tasted, so I looked at the bottle and it look a bit different, so I ran a search on the winery and the stock of wine and I flipped, $175.00 a bottle the cheapest I found it, told my wife, go and have a taste because we are not drinking this again.

I have a buddy who is a chef. I recently sat down with him & a few others to a 6 course meal including course of wine that he pared to the food. I'm for the most part not a wine drinker, but when it's done like this I do enjoy it & the buzz that followed. I figure we drank well over $800.00 worth.

I seldon drink beer too, because of the seasonal job. 10 beer wenches serving & spilling a little ends yp with the squeegee cleaning the floor every night. I've drank $150.00 bottles with my chef buddy while eating a Subway sandwich. One night while tasting ports for his bussiness we drank 3 bottles of LBV ports while smoking cigars & eating an occasional chocolate. That was a very enjoyable & exspensive evening too! |

I cook with wine but I'm not much of a wine drinker. My wife likes her Merlot and Pinot Grigio so she takes me to Total Wine to shop. I buy Imported beer and she buys her wines.
Even Trader Joe's has decent Merlot, according to her and it is inexpensive, just like Trader Jose beer.
