More picts of the 1763 smokepole as you guys call it.
Smokepole that is some funny sheet.
Still trying to figure the half moon carvings in the stock? Any Masons out their maybe it has some significance? A 1 1/2 in. of walnut stock was missing under the very front metal protector cover for inserting the ramrod. Lee my neighbor works on these smokepoles and did a professional you would not even know he worked on it repair. He has tons of parts old screws from the 1700s, pieces of stocks from wall hangers and the talent to fix these weapons. Lee made the walnut wood to a perfect fit from old stock secured it in place then over a few days rubbed motor oil to blend the repair. You for real can't see where he repaired it.
