Moosehunting 2014
We started the moose season on the 5th of October, and so far we have had good luck with a moose almost every day so far. Today though I was especially happy, as my 1.5 year old Jemthunt (a Swedish breed) was able to bay two moose. The first one took me 1 hour and 45 minutes to sneak up to, with the last 100 meters taking an hour. I was on all 4's and crawling most of the way to avoid being detected. In the end I was able to give it a neck shot from about 8-10 meters away. I had no choice but to get so close due to some thick fir trees.
Starting off in the morning: Right after the shot: More later.

I like the way the land looks
Or as we say, in my neck of the woods The way the land 'lays'... |

Good hunting Eric. Looks like a suppressor on your rifle? Their trying to make them legal for hunting here in America.

It is a Brno ZG47 action built in 1964 in 9,3x62.
As you can see, there is a suppressor on it. I would like to keep the what remains of my hearing fir as long as possible. Thankfully just about "everyone" over here, with no difference between age or gender, hunts with them. Mine only reduces the noise by around 24db, while my wifes dampens the sound by about 30-32db. Which is a big difference. Yes, I admit that I sinfully covet my wifes suppressor... |

They are legal in Texas! With all the increased guys getting SBR's & suppressors in states that allow hunting with them is why paper transfers are 9 months.

Interesting boon, I did not know Texas made them legal to hunt with. 9 month wait? Damn I was pissed at my last 3 month wait for an SBR stamp.
