What's your cheapest handgun?
Just thought it'd be interesting to see what the low-end is for most of us.
For me, its my 1895 Nagant. These have been available for as little as $69 a pop. The ammo of course, is not cheap but I've solved that problem for mine. I got a spare recoil plate and milled the one on the pistol down enough to allow me to use 32-20 brass in it. I load it with hollow based wad cutters and get good accuracy. I mostly shoot this in single action mode as the DA trigger pull is something like 20 pounds So, what's your cheap gun?

The first revolver I bought at 21 years old was an H&R model 922 $18.00 new, I still have it with home made osage pistol grips.
I once had a 25 caliber raven but gave it away. |

Probably one of my many black powder pistols.
Several single shots were free, other owner lost interest. Couple of the revolvers only have ten or fifteen dollars involved. Should probably sell those worthless pieces of BP crap. Hell, I don't shoot the damned things anymore. |

[QUOTE] Small world Gus! My first was an H&R M929. It still has the original plastic grips.

Smith and Wesson 669 for 50 bucks, and I just got a CZ Rami for 75. I gave him a AMD parts kit in trade instead, figured Id be generous.
They were both broken, the Smith need a new trigger bar, and I opted to update the safety since it was the old style. The CZ needed a new barrel and link pin. They were both still cheaper than hell.

A S&W model 14 that I took from a Jehovah's Witness in perfect condition for $75.
I also got a Beretta M9 for the same price from a lady friend but I knew her husband was into drugs so I traded it in at a gun show for something else. How about a brand new SW model 36 for $79 from the store, or the cheapest ye,t a Winchester model 94 for $74.99 at the store. I misunderstood the question, OK a .25 ACP Beretta.

The cheapest I have is my Ruger standard automatic, handpicked from a litter or about a dozen guns at gun store.
The cheapest I ever got my hands on was a German P-38 from the war years. All matching # and nazi proof marks, near mint condition. Shot flawlessly. I paid a whopping $35 for it in 1962 and, like the dumbass I am, soon traded it off. I've spent my whole life trying to like the 9MM cartridge and never liked it. The cartridge is like a food allergy to me. Today that pistol...wherever it is...is probably worth 10X what I bought it for. |

Little Spanish copy of the .25 Colt. I inherited it when my father passed, he inherited it when his grandfather passed. Would not try to shoot the thing on a double dog dare.

And there are more quality guns being mentioned than I thought - I expected more of the lower quality stuff like the ravens for instance. |
