Apparently, science has found that it truly is good for you to do that once in a while.
To me, it just feels right. ![]()

To much a tender foot to walk around barefooted. Last time I was going to do a little gardening in front of the as I slipped on my gardening shoes the wife told me they had dog shit on them & to not walk thru the house from the back door to the front. 3 minutes in & the fire ants were on my left foot!

When I was a kid, I think I went most of the Summer barefoot! Makes this 54 year old geezer feel like a little brat again!

When we lived in central Florida I would go around the backyard and tend the garden barefoot all the time. Since moving up here to the north end of the swamp I wear my heavy boots all the time.
Too many things to get in trouble with for instance, 3 weeks ago I'm throwing some bird seed by the tree line to feed the wild birds, squirrels, etc. As I start to sling seed I look down and see a 3ft long rattlesnake. Gently take 2 steps back, about face and haul ass to the barn where I keep a 12ga loaded with 00 buck. Run back to the seed area and took his head off. Snake was too small the skin so I gave him to the buzzards after I removed his rattle. No more barefoot thru the tulips for me. At least not unarmed, anyway.

I went barefoot all the time when I was young. My feet were tough. Was doing wheelies on one of those Honda 3 wheeler bare foot and broke my big toe two times. Now its got a big calcium deposit and my big toe doesnt bend. Also crushed the middle of my foot when I crashed a dirt bike.
I cant go barefoot anymore , unless on soft carpet or smooth grass. My feet real sensitive now, kinda numb for probably 25+ years. Little pieces of sand or tiny rocks or rough surfaces suck.
