870 feed problem
Back from the range with disappointment. She is reluctant to feed the second shell. Gets hung up with Rio and Federal ammo. Had my buddy fire it, and it hung up on him too. (To eliminate operator error) Shotty is 26 yes old and reasonably clean. Any ideas?

The mag spring retainer cap was riding upwards causing slack. Not enough pressure to force the next round into the tray. Fixed it by placing a wine cork on top of the retainer spring cap, and placing the end cap back on. No creep now.

Still had issues until spotting the true culprit. The "push cap" forcing shells into the receiver was blocked by grease, plastic residue and other gunk. A wipe of a rag has it humming now.

My 870's only 12 or 13 years old. Haven't put 100 through it yet. Good tips to know.
