Any High Standard pistol wizards here?
Specifically Model H-D Military.
I have a problem with a recent purchase that I cannot resolve, nor have I found a solution on the internet.

It's been a while, but as I recall, it is easy to ruin a High Standard H-D Military if one doesn't follow the exact disassembly procedure. If that is what happened, you should probably consider it a paperweight.

Bought it by way of GB at an indecently low price, but it arrived with the slide pretty much immobile...perhaps 1/16 inch movement backwards and then stops. Have watched several videos on takedown and have noted dire warnings about correct procedure, but I'm unable to even start the process. |

They shut down a year or two ago. They did some good work for me once before.

I owned a Duramatic once...my dad borrowed, never saw it again. Probably pawned it for booze.

Hmmm! With the hammer back (i.e. cocked) the slide moves freely.
Dire warnings say not to remove it (the slide) until pin depressed and spring under tension. Freakin ' pin won't depress as far as I can tell. What a cluster!!! |

Did you follow these instructions?"
https://www.bevfitchett.us/firearms-...-model-hb.html If a pin doesn't move try some lubricant overnight and see. |

Well, well...just spoke over the 'phone with Alan Aronstein and found that Interarms is at the 'old' High Standard Firearms address in Houston, and also that repairs to High Standard firearms are still an option as well as parts if needed.
A quick trip this afternoon should get the problem fixed...one way or another. |
