1,000 mph car on sale for $313G, needs work
A jet- and rocket-powered supersonic streamliner engineered to go over 1,000 mph is for sale after the project behind it went bankrupt.
Unfortunately, it'll take about $33 million and plenty of knowhow to get the car ready to run, but Green (who was the one in the car that did 763 mph) and his team are available for hire if anyone wants to pony up for the whole kit and kaboodle. https://www.foxnews.com/auto/1000-mp...13g-needs-work "Sir do you know how fast your were driving?" "Yes Sir officer I got 783 m.p.h. what are you showing on your radar detector?"

Half-century-old VW Beetle found and fixed up
When Kathleen Brooks bought her new Volkswagen Beetle in 1966 and nicknamed it Annie, she never could’ve imagined that she’d own it for over a half-century. But she did and still does.

I guess not...
I know it isn't some Michelin street performance tire. I don't care what he is running. He better keep it of the Belt Parkway , the BQE , and the Cross Bronx Expressway. Flushing Ave ? There are holes on there , if you fall in , you come out in Bangladesh. Fuhgiddabowdit.. MERC |

I realized that you might have perceived a bit of a pretentious edge to my comment, but by this time, I should think that you know enough about me to know better.
I caught a few minutes of a show on "Motor Trend" channel this afternoon, before off to the physical therapy appointment. Show was "Garage Dreams"... and I caught a few minutes while they were at the Bonneville Salt Flats. A different world, to be certain. Thought a few times of taking one of my road race motorcycles there to see what they could do on a long, flat, straight... My fastest Yamaha TZ250 was caught in the radar traps at 157 mph, back in 1982, on a road race course... the DKG/TZ350H was radar clocked at an RCH over 180mph... Realizing that Bonneville is "at altitude"... which means sapping power, but... also... don't gotta slow fer no fuckin' hairpin turns at the end of a straight. The 350 was running the largest countershaft sprocket and have the chain clear the crankcases, with the smallest rear sprocket available. Now... if I introduced the crankcases to Mr. Dremel... might that bike have pulled one more tooth on the countershaft? 18/33 = 180mph... Given the ten mile length of the course, and allowing the engine to "breath" every mile or so... if it could pull 19/33, that would = +/- 190mph... some serious fucking speed for 20 cubic inches, and NOT a full streamliner. Wouldn't be hitting no 200mph, but... Might have had a "world record" in it, before it chewed itself to bits on the diet of salt (worse than sand). BUT... then there is the reality that you are holding that engine WFO for mile after mile, NOT 3/4 mile at a time. AND... the thought of ingesting all that fucking salt straight through the carburetors and into a high strung and therefore relatively fragile racing engine.... You know? I'll leave that world to them that crave that weirdness. It is definitely NOT the "speed" that is the intimidation, but more having respect for the machinery. Horses for course, and that ain't my chosen course. |

Air born a long way on a 180 mph straight away. You can grind the teeth out of your even if you land it. 180 mph on a bike is Mr Toads Wild Ride without going air born . MERC |

Wasn't there a Tesla that recently exceeded 1000 mph? I believe it had a rocket under its ass.
