I've already accepted that I won't be buying one due to price. I'm a shooter. If I'm going to drop $1,000 to $2,000 on a 1911, it will most likely say Baer or some other custom maker's name on the side of it.
At least they are restricting it to one per year to keep the re-sellers from buying them up. Not that they won't find a way around the restrictions....

I got that email, too. I'm sure there will be plenty of buyers fighting for them but I won't be one of them. I'll just keep checking pawn shops and private sales.

When I think of how much PRACTICE AMMO $1200-$2000 will buy, I'll look elsewhere for my toys.
I am however, glad that they're not going out McShitStains way. cerberus Don't mean to show anyone my chubby, but I saw McShitStains being wheeled around congress in a wheelchair. Good things coming? |

Nope not for me. Join clubs two background checks pay top dollar nah. Hell the .45 I shot at Ft. Polk I had to aim a foot to the left to hit the damn target. I grew up around guns and could see where it was hitting.
Scored expert guys around me said how you do dat?

Church shooting lawsuit might be reason for double check?
Their going to be cracking down on these background checks I feel? The Air Force is getting sued for not reporting that last nut case whack ball. Not sure what he did in the AF but it was not good and they never turned the files over to the criminal check depts.?
"Texas Victim's Family Files First Claim Against U.S. Air Force Over Church Massacre" "The administrative claim, which was filed directly with the Air Force in Washington, said the military acted negligently when it failed to report the criminal record of gunman Devin Kelly to a federal database that would have prevented him from legally purchasing a firearm." https://www.nytimes.com/reuters/2017...g-lawsuit.html |

As a machine gunner, I was assigned one. I drew it out only to qualify, for inspections, and I would draw it when I was on the division Quick Reaction Force.
Other than that, I never drew it to carry in the field. Just something else I'd have to keep track of and clean when we returned. |

The procedure is probably designed to totally discourage
private buyers from obtaining said curios & relics.
