Sadly, he passed away quietly in his sleep on Sunday.

I’ve been in the area they operated in, including sleeping in a cabin they used way up in the mountains. What they did, especially under the winter conditions they had to deal with, was hard core beyond most peoples imagination.

As he wisely said in recent years: «Those growing up today need to understand that we must always be ready to fight for peace and freedom.»
