Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default My boat project

I'm gonna fix up my old boat. It ain't gonna be anything fancy. I just want a good solid fishing boat. The motor probably has only about 100 or so hours on it. So it should be good after I take it in and have it checked out. Probably will take a carburetor rebuild and perhaps a new fuel pump from sitting so long.

Gonna rip out everything rotten and replace it with only things that are necessary to make it a good fishing boat.

There is no dents or even scratches on the outside paint (not that I would really care about how fancy it looks). But the hull is in fine condition.

Gonna get some more life out of an old friend.

Here it is where it's been sitting for quite a few years.

The tires really sunk into the ground. Those are holding air still, but probably dry rotted.

I moved it over by my shop. Looks like I need to replace the transom board. It's kind of weathered looking.

I don't need no stinkin weeds.

I don't think that toilet paper will be any good anymore.

Gonna need a new sonar fish finder.

I should be able to salvage the live well. Might need a new water pump for it.

It's been sitting there for about 15 years I'd say. I believe the last time I used it was when I went fishing up in Northern Ontario.

I don't care about fixing it back like it was. I just want a good fishing boat.

Boats are very cheap down here now. They passed a law where people can not store them on their front yards so they are selling like pancakes. Take a look at Miami's craiglist if you have the time.

She's a little rough round the edges but with your carpentry skills I'm guessing you can make a good fishing boat out of the hull.

A little more mulch and I bet it would make a fine planter box, should you decide to abandon the resurrection of the Pequod that is.

well..with that motor you'll probably not have to worry about rotten stringers either.

we did the same thing to my dad's '76 thunderbird tri-hull...but it had a 200 Johnson on it...it needed alot of glass work.

have fun!

I had a boat once........I think airplanes are cheaper to keep.

You all know the happiest two days in the life of a boat owner, right? The day he buys the boat and the day he sells the boat.

At least my old boat and motor is paid for. It's been paid for for 25 years or more. That is the second motor on it. I put that motor on new, and I think I took it to Canada twice. The second time I ripped the windshields and the left console out because they were getting in the way when I was playing big northern pike.

With all of those little apples(?) laying around in the boat, you could just leave it as it is and start a mobile floating orchard.

That's an idea.

I got plenty of apples anyways though.

I've got most of the interior taken out. Still got to take up the floor and clean it up real good.

I still haven't decided what kind of floor to put in it. I've thought about cedar strips. Then I've thought about 3/4" pressure treated plywood.

And I"m thinking if I can find it, some of that plastic like they make decks out of now. Then I could paint it with sand paint to keep it from being slippery when wet.

I think you have a challenging project.
After that part, you can work on the boat.

It would make a great "Front Yard Raised Bed" too!

pogo they make marine grade plywood that will do a lot better in the wet, also indoor outdoor carpet works real good for a non slip covering.

There is a house on a lake not far from here that turned a jet ski into a flower pot and it sits right in the center of their front yard.
