Chris LeDoux - This Cowboy's Hat
Chris LeDoux - rodeo cowboy turned singer. For many years you never heard his songs on the radio. The only way to hear him was if you were at a rodeo he was playing at, or if you ordered his albums by mail from the back of a horse or rodeo magazine. Maybe you'd get lucky and find his albums for sale at a rodeo.
Then he "broke out" into mainstream radio with this one -

I have a lot of Chris Ledeaux's stuff. Some of the best music that there is. Sings about people and life, not like the modern day crap. He died too young.

I'll bet the venue was packed, too. Everywhere he played, he filled the place.
I don't know a whole lot about why Nashville didn't pick him up, but he never really made it in Nashville. Maybe he was too independent for them. Westerners can be that way. |

They couldn't control him so they ignored him. He didn't want anything to do with Nashville anyway.

What? No Five Dollar Fine? I'd complain but I don't have any cash right now...
Love the ending.
