A good friend passed this week.....
I was notified sometime this past Saturday, of his passing. The person notifying me, asked that nothing be posted on social media, until my dead friends sister or mom posted 'it'.
No problem. I sent his sister a message, expressing our condolences/etc....., then asked her if they knew 'how' he died..... She told me, "They figure it was his heart and, that he died on Tuesday, wasn't found until Saturday morning. Nobody heard 'anything' from his dog. His neighbors figured someone had picked him & the dog up, to go somewhere". What a f***ed up way to go..... My ONLY hope is, that he died in his sleep and, not trying to get to his cell phone to dial 911 as he was dying.... I doubt his sister will ever let me know. Sadly, I can't afford to attend his funeral. He lived in Manhattan KS, and will be buried in Omaha NE. It's f***ed up that he laid dead in his apartment for 3-4 days, before he was found. The ONLY reason he was found is, someone called the local PD and requested a 'welfare check'. KEEP IN TOUCH WITH YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS OFTEN! |

Had an old buddy that passed away
under the same circumstances… He also lived in another state and it was several days before he was found. |

I'm sorry to hear of this. I don't know you or your friends, but man-o-man can I understand. As I've lost almost all of my friends in recent years. It sucks beyond belief, and as tough as we think we are, life loses a little meaning when this happens.
I lost Bob my very closest friend recently and I have to keep reminding myself to be thankful for the time I did have with him. Also "lost" my longest friend Phil from 1.5 years old, to a massive brain bleed, he's still alive, but he's gone, nothing left but a body. Joe died in a fiery airshow plane crash, Jon died of a heart attack shortly after getting covid vaccinated. I guess being a friend of mine is a death sentence... ugh. Again, I really do have to remind myself that there are no guarantees in life. The idea that we can go through life without horrific loss is some sort of a dream from a sappy movie. Reality is harsh, unrelenting and still life is somehow worth it! My friend Joe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9d5i75Nosk |
