.22 short
Just went up to the farm to bust some bunnies and brought along the trusty Remington model 34 loaded with .22 short because .22lr is In hard supply and I have a million boxes of the 29 grain Remington stuff. On bunnies I shoot for the head so I figured the shorts will kill better than my pellet gun which I have killed hundreds of bunnies with. It performed better than expected with very little noise! I shot one and had time to reload and shoot his buddy 10 feet away from him! I can also fit 22 rounds in my tube using shorts. This guy who my brother had with him ridiculed me for using them telling me they are inhumane for anything bigger than a rat. He also said he wouldn't want to hunt near me because they ricochet. I told him he certainly didn't have to hunt on my family farm at all. Why doesn't anyone use shorts anymore?

I have heard some women prefer men that hunt
with longs rather than shorts... |

I have nothing against .22 shorts or even .22 longs. Although very few companies manufacture .22 longs anymore.
My only objection to .22 shorts is that they are a little more difficult to load into a rifle. And they might not cycle some semi-auto firearms. But if the firearm will feed a short, have at it. Any .22 ammo is better than none nowadays.

Buddy of mine traps hogs for profit. Mostly sells them to a zipperhead from Dallas who butchers them & resells them to chinamen. .22 shorts out of an old bolt gun drops them every time.

Haven't had a box of shorts for years. Have an old pump gun that will feed them though.

Haven't seen any 22 shorts for sale in ages either. Ammo is pretty tight in my area.

My Henry likes .22 shorts.
The feral cats around here, not so much.

A lot of modern .22s will not feed them.

You should invite your brother to leave the libturd in town maybe he (the libturd) can catch the mangina monologues.
I'll check China Mart and the yokel hardware store for shorts. My mother had a breakover .22 short revolver that shoots fine. Don't know if I have ammo for it. I'll buy some of yours if I can't find any. I like the .22 short. The libturd can play in traffic.

I don't get California.... And I'm from here even the gun types are idiots! Deer season this year I saw so many retards hunting 150lb black tails with .338 win mags! Making fun of my 6.5x55 saying it was too small for "serious game".

I have more than I'll ever put through that little revolver. Thanks for the offer.
Western Kansas mentality of the early nineties was the opposite. One yokel told me a .308 would, "blow a deer apart!" There was a lot of rampant stupidity in that conversation. |
