Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Ruger MK I, II, III improvement

There is a Hammer Strut Support for Ruger MK pistols. It greatly aids in reassembly of Ruger pistols.

If any of you have disassembled a MK I, II, or III you know how much of a pain in the ass to get that hammer strut back in.

I ordered one, and I'll report on it after I install mine.

Amazon has th Hammer Strut Supports.

Subscribed! I've only had the Mark III apart once, and when I sent it to Ruger for a trigger reset issue, they noted some scratch damage from my re-assembly process.

I may have to order one of those. I have a 1950's era Ruger .22 I bought used back in the late 70's. I've taken it down exactly twice (2) in all that time due to the PITA re-assembly process.

That would probably be a MK I. Check your serial number. Not for MK I serial numbers 10-56690 through 12-29xxx

I know this thread is a year old, but a few months back I bought one of the Hammer Strut Supports directly from the older gentleman in FL that holds the patent and it works incredibly well.

If you have a MK I, II, or III they are well worth the $20 investment.

It takes a few minutes to install it if you try to watch the installation video because the man shot the video in very poor lighting conditions. But between the paper instructions that come with it and the video it's not too hard to figure out.

Before I learned about the HSS it had gotten to the point that I didnt shoot my MK III because it was too hard to reassemble after the cleaning.

I guess I’d better go and check a couple of serial numbers.

My MK 1 has a tapered barrel too,,it was a hand me down from pops ,,he bought it sometime back in the 60's,,the only thing he regrets about it was swapping out the red grips for the normal silver ones,,I guess the hawk on the grip was red for awhile

I should get that hammer strut,,it appears it would make life easier
