Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Interesting things and scenery in South Dakota

While on my trip across South Dakota, I stopped at this tiny church. It is next to a rest area in the middle of nowhere. Its like a 10'x10' room with a couple small pews and free bibles.

I also stopped to check out the "Dignity of Earth and Sky" statue. Its a 50 foot tall Native American statue that I thought looked pretty cool.

Just behind the Dignity statue is a path that leads to a good view of the Missouri river. I couldn't get as good of a shot as I wanted. There were some kids just ahead of me enjoying the view and I was trying to make sure I didn't get them in the shot.

And no trip to South Dakota would be complete without seeing Mt. Rushmore.

Interesting church. Was there any backstory to it as to why it was built there? Doesn't look like services are held there, or anything.

I don't know the backstory. But there was a placard on the wall saying something like "Join us here every Sunday at 9am for services". There was also a donation box just outside. I gave $20.

I would bet some good people built it to give some comfort to our pro truck drivers and lonely travelers.

It looks old. I'm wondering if it was there back in the covered wagon days as a spot for weary travelers to stop and worship. And then it was restored at some point.

The chair Wild Bill Hickok was sitting in when he was shot and killed.
