Does "LifeStraw" Really Remove Parasites? A Look Under the Microscope
You can usually pick one of these up for under $20. I had one in my pack for years, but quit carrying one when I got a Katadyn Hiker water filter. I'm about to ditch the Katadyn Hiker for the lighter weight Katadyn BeFree water filter and keep the Hiker as a base camp type filter. Sawyer also makes a good filter.
My wife has the Lifestraw in her pack. My problem with the Lifestraw is that it only works as needed to drink. It doesn't give you filtered water to cook with, brush your teeth, etc. I'd rather have a container of clean water than a container of dirty water I have to drink from a special straw to have filtered water.
