Need Help... AK isn't Feeding Properly!

So I decided to go out a shoot a bit today since it warmed up to 13 degrees but had trouble with my Hungarian 10rd Tanker mag. The bolt carrier seems to just glide right over the magazine without stripping & chambering any rounds.

Anyone had this problem and know of a fix for it?

I think you got that "Banana Clip" term mixed up.....LOL.

JEEZ,

You got the clip in backwards, Hungarian Banana clips curve the other way.

...might be the ammo,..."chimp-out" rounds sometimes need a hard push. What type of ammo you have in that,...Chimp-out ...or ...yuth stoppers ?...hollow point and seedless ammo have a hard time feeding ...with the nigros stealing the ammo before it can cylce....just my expert knowledge of this my have saved you...

Thanks for all your thoughtful suggestions. 5Knives, I tried reversing and it helped but didn't cure the FTF issues entirely so I decided to take REDOAK's clever advice and popped a brand spanking new Bulgarian 30 rounder in and it works flawlessly! Thanks again gentlemen.

Are you sure it isn't the rim on the seeds? I found that if the rim is too small, the lips can't catch the seed, as it passes over.

Sounds like a problem I had with a WASR I once had. Century had sent it with a old brown rotten mag. I just added a bit of material on the bottom side of the locking tab, then slowly dremeled it down till it fit and fed just right. Then BAM, perfectly sliced

bread was flying everywhere.
