Survival in a Combat Environment (Becoming Deadly In The Mountains)

I carry the 6mil drum liners. Those things can be used for anything. I've even seen a stretcher made from a couple of them and some poles, then used to carry a full grown man out of the woods. The best use I have found is to fill a couple up with leaves and grass then use them as a bed to sleep on. Perfect insulation from the ground.

They work well as a sleeping bag if
it is cold or wet and you have nothing else…or as a poncho too… |

I like the idea of 6 mil drum liners. Great idea for the right environment.
When in Iraq (2007-2008), my team and I left the wire with the basic load: vest, 7 rifle mags, 3 pistol mags, helmet, etc.... I was on a civil affairs team in Mosul and later Tikrit. We stuffed our cargo pockets full of candy, toys, trinkets and anything else little kids might like. As a result, we were a hit everywhere we went, but we never got hit. Being seen as a "nice guy" outside the wire in a counter-insurgency operation can save your life. All my guys got back in one piece and we did our job. |

Soldiers Always Carry These Survival Tools in the Field!
Great idea on the trash bags all kinds of ideas on the survival YouTube using them. Great rain coats a hole for your head and arms..
Fishing line, hooks, nail clippers for slivers that could get infected, dry socks, etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Yy9zRCRvRo Rule of 3s.. 3 weeks without food 3 days without water 3 hours without shelter. Once you have the most important 'shelter' then you can work on the other two.

If you are in an area that is prone
to snow, a simple white bedsheet makes good camouflage... |
