Finally found my Creamed Chipped Beef.
Bought a package of Stouffer's yesterday.
Nostalgia satisfied, this morning. Had it for breakfast. Both dogs were interested, must have been the aroma. Bit they didn't get any, I ate it all. Oh well, not as good as I remember, but still, it was okay. |

Stouffer's is not cheap but as close as mom used to make without going through all the work.

It's not that hard to make your own, but Stouffers will do in a hurry.

Love Stouffer's SOS. One of the many variants the army cooks prepared.

Hell the other morning I made cream gravy for my toast & eggs. No sausage or ground beef in it so it was fair.

It does bring back simplier times. A local cafe now has it daily.

Most restaurants I know use the commercial gravy. If I get it in a restaurant I order a side order of patty sausage and crush the sausage and mix it with the gravy. I like it better when I make it at home. It's really easy to make. Bisquits n gravy, yum.

Local greasy spoon chain here normally has great food & I seledom complain. I ordered shit on a shingle one morning & it was plain as day the fried up a hamburger & crumbled it into the gravy. The grease in the gravy is what makes or breaks SOS or sausage gravy.
