My FN 49 Pics
Ive been wanting one of these for a long time, thought Id never find one I could afford. But I managed to work out a trade and spent about $40 on a new front handgaurd and windage screws, cleaned her up real good and have fondled it properly and her she is. If you come to NC and ask real nice I MIGHT let you shoot it. Anyone know where I can get me some stripper clips to use with it?
Im no photographer as you all can tell

Wow... The last FN 49 I saw was REALLY junky, looked like it had been ran over a few times. Still had an $800 tag on it though.

that looks great...is that a replacement stock or did you clean it up? I thought I saw a previouos photo of your FN and it was dirtier.
I have an aftermarket stock on mine....with no disc....maybe I should sink a Arizona quarter in the stock? I'll take some pics to show my FN49 soon nice rifle. |

thats the stock that was on it when I got, it is the original, but I think its been sanded, I only replaced the upper hand gaurds, the original had the worst arsenal repair I have ever seen. It was rearsenaled in 68. I was pleased with condition, good bore too. Only bad thing is now I got to figure out whats next. SVT 40 maybe? when you add up the what I paid for the trade fodder and the hand gaurds and screws I might have $450 in this rifle

I couldnt help but put the Farrah pic in the photo, the dead negro took all of the focus away from the real loss.

Plus shipping, USPS delivered them right to your door. Brand new, unfired 03-A3s were available to the public for $29.95. Civilian market, for .30-06 was less than $5.00 per 100 rounds. Like Pogo pointed out, a while back, our own firearms manufacturers were behind the '68 gun control laws because of all the "Cheap" imported guns. Most of us never gave it a thought that they would become collectables. |

But you don't have to rub it in, I'm sensitive on the subject! As I've said before, if I had $5 for every 1911 I've bought and sold for under $50 ... I could afford one of these new fangled fancied up pieces of art metal sculpture they're calling 1911s nowadays. Thats one darn fine looking FN-49 Mr. Icarus! Regards, ... |

I wanted one from the first one I seen way back in the mid 70's. I remember seeing a full auto parts kit in the Shot Gun News shortly there after. Only made me want one even more. Never got the FN 49, but I did get some NFA toys finally.
