Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

I looked into getting hired on to do that demolition but the companies are mostly all generations of family owned and operated.
They are the best of the best at directional blasting. Just one millisecond delay puts that structure just where they want it.

They have to be family owned and operated or they couldn't pay Unemployment Compensation Insurance, that's a very high risk job, just their liability insurance is high enough I bet.

Fred when I left the ski area I was blasting and I wanted to start my own business. Lot of work in Vermont lot of rocks to be removed. So?
I went to the local insurance company and asked about insurance? They frigging laughed at me frigging laughed. and I had tons of jobs lined up. I had to start a construction company THEN do blasting as a side . $$$
From work on a mountain with nobody or property to damage on the job practice and experince. Sheet I can take their powder "direction blasting" and put a rock through your window from a mile away.

True I only worked with said rocks that were available. Said blasting is taking the explosive and in my case dynamite and Kenna pack, Det cord and bags of Nitrate to save money and no pun intended having an hell of a blast of fun blowing things up.
"Stemming:" is out of my league but I am willing to learn thank you.

Plus keep in mind Rick the harder you work the bigger the bang.

REDOAK I just read that article on stemming. Interesting as that is where you have to work with your drilling crew to inform you of the material your setting up for.
If they hit seams in the rock or hollow spots you don't want to overcharge. The blast could come out 20 feet away. Not good for what's their. Solid is good.
If I recall we had to go at least 3 feet then repack and boom. Whoever worked the hardest that day on the crew I let hit the button.Fire in the hole ler er rip boys.

Look at the DigiShot electronic detonators. Programmable to whatever delay you need. No need for a shitpot of delays.

That is great modern technology.
We kept boxes of 1 to 10 millisecond delays if I recall correctly?
Surface blasting was the most fun and biggest booms. Trying to find it we used "Kenna Pack" I think it was called. Ironically got shipped in separate containers by UPS..
Pint or so bottle of redish liquid and a bag of powder. Mix in bag stir well with non static tool of your choice pack on a rock etc. cover with mud and go boom.
Think C-4 moves at around 24,000 FPS this commercial stuff moves at just a bit less? I miss that work.
