Henry lever action in .45-70 inquiry
Anyone have insight as to the quality of Henry rifles in this caliber? I should've bought an older Marlin before the quality went a bit south. Just curious. 🤔

I haven't had any experience with that caliber, but every Henry I have messed with has been top shelf. If you have any problems with it, they have a very good warranty department, too.
I wouldn't be ashamed to own one in .45-70, but I've been eyeballing their new .44 Mag steel receiver rifle...

Obviously you never owned a AR-7 or had warranty work done on a returned Henry. The lever action .22s I've tried have been top notch, the AR-7? NEVER seen one that worked, after returning them to the factory, have NEVER seen one that worked.

AR-7

It must be Henry that is not building and testing that causes poor reviews, my AR can’t be beat for reliability or ease of maintenance |

Yes.
I have a .35 Marlin lever I bought over 30 yrs ago from a WW2 vet. It was made in 1961 and is a bull. A Henry in .45-70 does sound interesting... MERC

Did de Blasio make you put a plug in the tubular magazine so that the gun only holds 2 rounds? That would stop a lot of crime, you know.

I had an AR7. It was no workee. I had a Henry bolt 22 and it worked. I talked to the Henry CEO on the phone because he wanted to use a pic of my 6 yr old son with his Henry on their website. I said yes. I forgot the CEOs name but he was a really nice guy.

My experience with the AR-7 is that the magazine fit is too loose and if it's not at the right angle as the bolt goes into battery you will have a failure to feed. I solved my problem by drilling and tapping the trigger guard so I could install an 8-32 button head screw it forces the mag to rock back at the right angle
