Nope and I have not seen any yet. Who worked with S&W to develop the .500? I know they worked with Remington, with a lot of help from of Elmer Kieth, on the .44 mag. I'm thinking Hornady but I'm not sure. The developer of the round may have loads on it's web site.

Do you have a .500 Wolvie? That's a real chunk of iron in your hand. I've been real seriously thinking about getting a 460 with an 8" barrel.

ya i have the long barrelled one in 500, just came into a screamin deal on it about 1.5 years ago, got brass bullets dies an all just haven't loaded for it yet, have shot it with the hornady 350 JHP stuff (very hot) it's definately a handful. the 460 does have the advantage of bein able to shoot both 454 and 45LC rounds in it as well

Yeah, the ability to shoot .45LC is why I was quite interested in it. I reload a lot of .45LC for Cowboy Action Shooting anyway.
Either one packs a wallop. That .500 ain't like no other. |

Actually I'm not at all tempted!
Whenever my hand and wrist stops aching for a day or two I just dig out the 45-70 Contender put on the pistol grip and put a couple of rounds through it. Then I'm back enjoying the familiar pain I now consider natural! Ask me some time why I load .44 Rem. Mag down to 240 grains lead at prox. 1000 fps in a SBH! September of '09 will represent my 50th Anniversary with a .44 Mag. I'm thinking of celebrating by having major restorative wrist surgery! About that .500 in a DA frame ...... enjoy! Regards, |

Wolvie, I did a fast check of the powder manufacturers and didn't see any listing a powder charge for a 300 gr bullet. I noticed Jerrys had 350 gr Speer JHP for slightly more ($10.28 for 50). Most all of the powder manufacturers have a listing for them. Or were you wanting to specifically have FMJ bullets?
