Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Why the Colt Offensive Handgun lost the bid to make the next SOCOM handgun

I never saw what Colt entered in the competition. I just found it on YouTube. H&K won, and I can see why Colt lost. The entry by Colt was a Rube Goldberg device.

It was about as intricate as a Luger.

It even looks like some abortion some guy cobbled together in his garage from a box of spare parts from a variety of different handguns. I'm sure ze Germans had something that looked production-ready from the start. America used to be able to do great things, but we started sucking when top management started signing off on "it's good enough" designs that tried to maximize production values from existing ideas so they could slap together something cheaply with already amortized equipment and R&D.

It's definitely a work in progress. I actually like most of their ideas, just not their execution. With more time and improvement I think it had potential, but it was definitely not ready for prime time when submitted. I'm sure they knew that. ...but time constraints are time constraints.

Why try to reinvent the wheel when you have proven performers out there like Glock & SIG?

+1, it's all about profit margins, not innovative designs.
