Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Probably an interrogation tool, threaten to shoot someone with it, using the shotshell.
Close range, they would think they are really hurt.
Then ask the raghead if they want shot again?

Possibly aircrew survival weapon? Never having been aircrew I don't know what they currently use.

with this

Seems sound to me.

gunnysmith got it in one

There could be no other rational reason!

Almost makes sense from the chairborne deskpilot point of view.

Of course we ARE talking about DOD and DOA here ...

Think most aircrew would be content to add "The Judge" to the bailout/crash package, and hang onto the issue handgun and /or carbine for "sentimental" reasons.

As always , JMHO, YMMV.

Regards,
...

The AF hasn't used the M6 Survival Rifle for a long time. But I would rather have it than the Judge. If you were using a .410 flare, you could shoot it out of the M6. And you also had the .22 Hornet round which is a fairly effective round.

I wonder what they did with all of the ones they used to use? I'd like to have one to go with my stainless steel version. Of course the originals would need a SBR stamp because the barrel in the AF version was only 14".

I agree with pogo. The firearm is for survival. The M6 is a better choice over a pistol any day in that situation. Why go to the trouble of acquiring something that isn't needed.Pilots are typically armed with an M9 or Sig 228.They don't need another handgun.I think this is a really stupid idea on DOD's part.

Would it not be more versatile to buy a three inch shell variant? More types of ammo you can use, too. The 6 inch barrel's mass also would help to dissipate some of the kick, too.
