Here come da Judge! Army is looking for some .410 revolvers
Interesting thing I found while looking for other opportunities:

I wonder what they have in mind to do with them?

gunnysmith got it in one There could be no other rational reason! Almost makes sense from the chairborne deskpilot point of view. Of course we ARE talking about DOD and DOA here ... Think most aircrew would be content to add "The Judge" to the bailout/crash package, and hang onto the issue handgun and /or carbine for "sentimental" reasons. As always , JMHO, YMMV. Regards, ... |

The AF hasn't used the M6 Survival Rifle for a long time. But I would rather have it than the Judge. If you were using a .410 flare, you could shoot it out of the M6. And you also had the .22 Hornet round which is a fairly effective round.
I wonder what they did with all of the ones they used to use? I'd like to have one to go with my stainless steel version. Of course the originals would need a SBR stamp because the barrel in the AF version was only 14". |

I agree with pogo. The firearm is for survival. The M6 is a better choice over a pistol any day in that situation. Why go to the trouble of acquiring something that isn't needed.Pilots are typically armed with an M9 or Sig 228.They don't need another handgun.I think this is a really stupid idea on DOD's part.
