Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

I use my 35 Y.O. six cell MagLight converted to LED when I'm looking around. I lay it on my shoulder with the front forward. It instantly becomes a pretty good club if needed.

That's the main reason I carry a large Maglight. It doubles as a club. I would however, like something like Pogo and others have posted here. Something powerful yet small enough to carry in a shirt or pants pocket.

I have the same type, and just as old.
Been keeping it, just because.
It is totally corroded inside now and worthless.

I have a couple rebuilt mag lights the batterys swelled up inside and had to drill a hole down the center and use a hammer and chisel to get the old bats out. Then clean the corrosion out with sand paper/ wire brush. Then I smeared grease inside. Too cheap to buy a new one

I should have removed the batteries a long time ago.
The price of D cells is so high, now days, that I've lost interest.
Most everything is now AA or AAA.
A package of six D cells cost more than a pack of 24 AAs.

LEDs are the way to go now, just have to convert one of mine to a bullseye lens.

I have a 3 cell Maglite that I converted to LED. This little Streamlight is way brighter than it.

I have a single bulb led 'throwaway' that I carry in my pocket.
You do NOT want to look directly at that little bulb.
I've been carrying it for over a year.
I think it's supposed to be a keychain light.
Sure has been usefull though, especially under the hood, at night, with a loose battery cable.

Found a couple of similar lights from Coleman at Wally world a year ot two ago, avg price about $29. most run on 3 AAA cells, but short life same as 123 lithium.

Thing is all three are brighter than my old Surefire. More Lumens and a comparision leaves no doubt. Plus the aaa's fad slowly givibng you warning, the Sure Fire just dies with no warning.

The one I use daily has white, Blue and Red lights. Red for the usual reasons, White is in the 100 plus lumens range, with 1.5 hour battery life. The blue setting has a 6.5 hour life, meant for finding blood trail, but is perfect for moving around the house with out waking anyone.

And yup, my old maglight is under the front seat, change batteries regularly, but it's really there as a club if required.

Also a hand generater russian light in the glove box, just waiting to break like the previous 3.

But either the sureFire or one of the colmans is always in a pocket.

Regards,
...

Funny story about the 3+ cell Maglite.

I was drilling a water well for a Border Patrol agent on his place near Sierra Vista, Az. He came out to watch, as many landowners do, and we got to talking about his job. He kept referring to wetbacks as "tonks". I finally asked him why he called them, "tonks"?

He told me because that was the sound made when a Maglite whacked them on the head.
