Building a backyard fireplace
It started off as a firerock fireplace kit and I added about 100 concrete blocks to it to give it some mass and aesthetic appeal.......i have been working on this for approximately 2 weeks.......I started off by digging a very large footing, inserting rebar and then i had a concrete truck come and i made approx 40 trips with a wheelbarrow back and forth to the concrete truck , dumping the concrete in the footing......i didn't have to go to the gym that day......i then had to take a break for 4 days while a crew of guys laid down pavers......the pre engineered fireplace kit assembled like legos.....and now im finishing it up with stone veneer.....a lot of work.

I thought having my own smokehouse if I ever got a piece of land would be nice.

Did you put a spark arrestor in the top cap? Its going to take me at least 2-3 days to grout and strike this....im probably going to get carpal tunnel from squeezing the grout bag and filling up all those joints with mortar. |

Only the truth, you took that unfinished place with lots of potential and turned it into a beautiful upscale house. You have custom made almost every thing...by hand.
How long has this project being going on? I forgot where the original thread was about placing a low ball bid on the property was but it's been a few years. |
