Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

There is a huge difference between average grocery store fruit cakes and Collins Street.
I love their cakes.

Several years ago I made a remark that I liked those fruit cakes.
Come Christmas I received four of them.
The oldest was around ten years old, so I sampled it first, and ate it all.
Gradually went through the other three, no side affects except appreciation.

BTW, I still like those fruit cakes in a can that are wrapped in cellophane.

I love fruitcake. Too bad nobody ever gifts one to me.

My wife keeps saying she will make one for me, but then she got laid up with her last surgery. Maybe I can get her to make it early this coming year and let it "age" in brandy or rum.

I score mine @ the local Albertson's/Randall's cheaper then if I bought it direct. You might want to check if Albertson's own anything in your area. Could just be a Texas thing.

Man, that would be a feast!
Spread the lima beans over the fruitcake and squeeze the grapefruit juice over it all.

I would mash up the beans and mix it with the grapefruit and use it for frosting.

I actually liked creamed lima beans the way my dad would make them. I like grapefruit too, but it tears me up even when used to mix with booze.

I dug some up downrange at Ft. Carson in '85. You couldn't read the outside of the cans, anymore. Since they weren't bulged out, I opened them up and one was a can of tuna fish. It looked and smelled okay, but I didn't taste it. The other was fruitcake. I ate that, and it was pretty dang good!

I think 4th must have buried them there back in the day.

We have Albertson's here. I'll have to go take a look.
