If mass shootings result in more gun control, then I would suspect that people wanting more gun control would welcome more mass shootings. ...or even encourage them. Are we not encouraging such people by enacting more gun laws after mass shootings? Do gun laws stop violent crimes committed with a gun? No they don't. If they did, this crime would never have happened. We still don't even know what motivated the shooter in the recent Las Vegas massacre. Somebody knows, but "we the people" don't. Does anyone really believe that a multimillionaire such as this shooter, who is motivated to kill as many people as he can, would be unable to purchase the means and then research an opportunity to do exactly that no matter what laws were on the books? So, in effect, what is really being achieved by enacting more gun control laws is really NOTHING more than placating gun control advocates. Why do it? How or why any gun owner would support that, I have no idea. Playing politics with communist gun grabbers is a losing proposition. No good can ever come of it.
