US Navy crew monitoring North Korea says their ship is a ‘floating*prison’
Crew aboard the USS Shiloh told an anonymous Navy survey the boat is a “floating prison” and said that they “hate” their job and ship, according to a Navy Times report detailing the shocking responses.
"Crew lodged the hair-raising complaints in three surveys conducted between June 2015 and August of this year — when the ship was commanded by Capt. Adam M. Aycock. He was not fired, the Navy Times reported." http://nypost.com/2017/10/10/us-navy...oating-prison/ I would guess it will take Pres. Trump a bit of time to help straighten out our U.S. military? With the X HNICs hiring of women in combat roles, open gays and cross dressers, to affirmative action promotions I bet their is lots of problems not being reported? Thank you niqqer.

Capt. Adam M. Aycock was replaced in August. Maybe Aycock was a incompetent commander, maybe not. There are crybabies in all branches of the military that will bitch and moan if they have to do something they don't want to do.

I couldn't agree more! The military IS NOT a democracy. ...especially on a ship. This does not sit well with some, especially those who get themselves into the shits with their CO. Example: Sailors stationed ashore have a right to request a courts martial in lieu of nonjudicial punishment. ...not so on a ship. The Captain IS the final word. Are there malingerers, sick bay commandos, crybabies and straight up criminals in the Navy? Yes, there are! ...and there always have been. A Captain's job is to run his/her ship despite such scumbags and to deal with them appropriately. Rarely are these Commanding Officers very popular with said scumbags. I certainly don't know what the whole story is with this ship and it's CO or crew, but I know there is one. That article certainly IS NOT it! Here's an example of how the Navy has changed since I came up in it. My wife and I are retired CPO's. When she was stationed on board the USS HARRY S. TRUMAN(CVN-75) she spotted another female Sailor meandering down the pier to the ship wearing her uniform improperly. After this young gal crossed the Quarterdeck, my wife pulled her aside and proceeded to straighten her out and instruct her on the proper way to wear that uniform. In the middle of this counseling session, the young Sailor started forming the letter "T" with her hands. My wife asked her, "What the HELL are you doing?" She said, "I'm asking for a time out Chief, because you're stressing me out!" They are actually taught this in boot camp now! Can you imagine asking for a fucking "time out" in boot camp or at a duty station because you are stressed out? Welcome to the new Navy! Thank God we're retired.

When they joined the navy they thought it meant they would be laying on a beach in Hawaii and getting trendy tattoos and drinking cocktails with umbrellas in them

I had a great time. First class accommodations during exercises while others are eating MRE's in their tents.

Boat storage for all on the base you call they put your boat in the water for you. My buddy and myself talked to a U.S. Marine who was stationed on the base to teach the troops how to exercise. Keep in mind the first M-16s were not issued to the Army or Marines in Nam but the AF who patrolled their own perimeters. In Nam when the AF was called they came as soon as possible. God bless our AF.. |

I have a lady friend who joined the US Army as a WAC about 1972. She thought she was going to go to Germany and see all kinds of castles and party and dance and meet all kinds of cool good looking men and was going to be a non-stop party. She was SHOCKED by having Drill instructors screaming at her... forcing her out of bed...EARLY..making the trainees..(All women).. run and exercise.. and then being sent to a school for doing intelligence gathering and interp. She was stationed permanently in CONUS at Ft Meyer in WWII wooden barracks and then worked either at the Pentagon or in Ft Meyer.
I will laugh at her over all THIS ....which makes her crazy... She will get on a rant about how the Army fucked her over about not sending her to Germany and making her stay in an old wooden barracks... I just laugh at her when THAT ball starts rolling. I tell her she has no idea what being a REAL soldier is about.... and what Vietnam combat was like... and how good of a ricebowl she had as a REMF, in the DC area. Sounds to me like she spent her time infiltrating anti-American anti-war groups and gathering intel..."In the field"...she always wore blue jeans, sandals or boots and a T shirt with no bra. And then pisses and moans about how the recruiters lied and she isn't eligible for the level of free VA health care that I receive as a WIA combat vet. There just aint no pleasing some women... |
