There was a civil war cannos at the Y.O. shoot years back they were shooting concrete projectiles. At 300 yards impacts were moving a suburban a good foot sideways. Even a parrot rifle is going to put a hurt on your powder cost.

Netflix had a good one going on the 1860s cannons and the crap they loaded them with. One they aimed at oncoming formations so the ball would blast along at ground level like a bowling ball.
The ball would just keep rolling taking guys legs off clean one after another behind each other. Flechettes were well used in Vietnam for the 105s when the bad guys got in close. Like a huge shotgun. |
