A 79-year-old homeowner in Georgia reportedly fired off two shots during a home invasion earlier this month. The actions taken by the unidentified woman to ward off the intruder before responders could arrive at her residence on Feb. 12 were captured on her 911 call, ABC News reported Wednesday. My Mom carried a 12 gauge single barrel every where she went I cut down for snake shooting.

Her thought was they're snakes.

My 87 year old mom is in failing health, she spends most of the day watching old TV re-runs and smoking while sitting on her recliner chair, with a loaded .38 by her side. She used to be a good shot too.

Before my 94 year old mom died a few short years ago she confided in me that she had given her pistol to my younger brother...hells bells, I didn't even know she had a pistol or could shoot it; them little Cajun women can fool ya sometimes...I should have known, I've never lived in a home that didn't have long guns in every corner and pistols in a drawer or two/ten. The British tricked us in 1767...that'll never happen again, not to anyone of Acadian descent anyway. (Yes, we were Jews but it just wasn't always popular to let others know.)
