Spring must be close.....
Must be about that time. As has been the case in years past, Gurney's has sent their 2016 catalog. Probably won't be another week or more and the rest of them (Jung, Burpee, Park, etc.) will start showing up too.

The cheapest I saw for any of their packets was $2.99. For seedlings, and depending on what they were, it was anywhere from $6-$60.
For three of their "exclusive to them only" tomato plants...$15-$20 depending on the type they are. |

Things were much less than that when I decided to built my own greenhouse. Really enjoyed propagating my own. |

I've gotten stuff from Gurney's years ago, but their prices for things now are just outrageous. I can get pretty much the same stuff from Menard's for about half the price or less.

Yes. About the only thing worth buying from Gurney's is stuff you can't find locally.

We got bombed with a ton of seed catalogs last week.
I still have three pepper plants in the window from last summer. Down to the last pepper to pick.

Got one from Burpee in the mail today. Prices for damn near everything are way cheaper then Gurney. And, I think they have a broader selection.

I'm already tired of this winter jazz. Can't wait to get some good eating stuff in the ground in the next few months,

So happy today, the kid returned. After four days I was concerned. Broken -hearted concerned. He arrived tonite cleaner than I've seen him since Summer.
Gotta add him to the family. I've gifted space and freedom. These past few days? He's back. He's alive. God what a scare. I'd rather die myself. Few things could make me happier. |

Don't think I'll garden anymore.
Considering relocating to Hawaii, have an option for the Big Island, maybe. |
