What is the gun, ammo and component situation in your area?
In Utah:
A. Guns. No Glocks. Affordable AR-15s are gone but high end ones can still be found. Some AKs still around. 1911s and revolvers are plentiful. Combat shotguns are gone. B. Ammo. Most stores have no handgun or 5.56 ammo at all. One local gun store has a reasonable selection. Priceas have doubled to tripled. C. Components. Bullets are available in many calibers, but not all. Most stores are out of powder but one store has a reasonable selection. Everyone is out of primers.

My dear departed pappy instilled in me the need to Ave reloading components in excess because he came of age during WW2 and remembered not being able to buy Jack shit for the duration. Grandpa had the forethought to buy part of a brick of .22 before it all started.

Couple of shops have Century arms VSKA, Adams arms witch doctors( no idea) Ruger AR clones and S&W M&P 15 sports in the 800 range. Mid range rifles are out of stock and plenty of high end.
Off brand( to me ) “ combat “ shotguns seem to be in good supply. Good luck finding any ammo tho, even 22lr

I stopped by the local fun shop last Friday. I grabbed the last 6 boxes of 129 gr. 6.5 Creedmoor (the cheap stuff). There was a large stack of 22-250 ammo, some odd calibers and at least 12 boxes of .270 ammo, a sizable selection of shotgun loads (dove, trap loads), some odd ball calibers on the shelves and that's it.
Handgun cases were 3/4 empty, long gun case (along the wall behind the gun counter/pistol & optics display cases), was virtually barren with the exception of a couple Henry lever guns in large calibers, and other not so popular long guns. As far as reloading supplies, that aisle was pretty much empty, to include zero reloading equipment. A coworker got done work early today and ran over to this same fun shop to see what all they had. They had just finished logging in 31 firearms they received from their Corporate Distribution Center. There were two Glock 42's in the bunch. My buddy bought one and someone else bought the other earlier in the day. Gun counter guy said they hadn't been in the display case 4 hours before they were sold. |

I look at it as like the stock market prices go up prices come down. Now for sure is not the time to buy unless desperation warrants it.
PSA is putting out a lot of short barreled pistol ARs in the $350 range minus just a receiver. I have not been in a fun shop since this insanity started. Heading over to Tactical Machine 'AR receiver co.' to talk the guys into selling a few receivers. They show out of stock on their site. They put out around 500 to 600 a day during Americas time of need.

Everything is scarce and in short supply unless you know where to look.
Personally, I've been finding what I want.

If ammo prices increase as election time nears, I'm unloading about 50k rounds. Maybe more.
If mass rioting continues, I'm not selling any. I guess I'm sorta indecisive. Maybe. Maybe not. |
